Cristina & Homer Ladas

Tango could be described as a union of two people.  Oftentimes one has to work through contrasting energies and ideas to achieve such a closeness to her/his partner.  Cristina & Homer put this matter in the center of their dancing and teaching for this year’s Berlin visit.  Contrast in tango can be applied to style, music, and partner interpretation/communication.  We will attempt to integrate all of these concepts during the learning process.

Cristina & Homer will teach two seminars, one for intermediate level, the other one for advanced level dancers.  Both seminars will be held with a focus on the idea of “Contrasts”, each one works with a specific topic:

A – “Colgada Immersion: The Cristina & Homer Method”     for intermediate level

Thursday, August 15th
14h-18h

Friday, August 16th
14h-18h

up to date info: SOLD OUT!  — send us an email to be added to the waiting list, it is always possible that someone has to cancel

This intermediate level seminar will begin with reviewing the most basic ideas for developing a strong colgada foundation.  Homer & Cristina will then apply these ideas in a  few proven social-dance patterns that they have successfully used and taught for many years now.  Furthermore, we will explore in-depth the contrast of functional (micro) and artistic (macro) uses of colgadas.  Colgada musicality (and musical contrast) will also be explored in detail (mostly for tango and vals but maybe milonga too?).  A beginner level exposure to colgadas is a pre-requisite!

B – “Wraps & Ends: Cristina’s Favorites, Homer’s Answers”   for advanced level

Wednesday, August 21st
14h-18h

Thursday, August 22nd
14h-18h

up to date info: SOLD OUT!  — send us an email to be added to the waiting list, it is always possible that someone has to cancel

This advanced seminar will examine and break down a few of Cristina’s favorite leg wraps (both low and high, from changes of embrace, etc) and Homer’s interesting exits and follow-up elements (on/off axis, follower’s boleos & sacadas, social-lifts, etc).  The goal will be to apply contrast on a stylistic and musical level, further developing partner interpretation and communication.
